I started my journey into Instructional Technology because I wanted to be an Elementary Technology Teacher, which was what I was doing as a teacher assistant. I was really happy then and loved my job. Right now my goal is to return to the elementary setting as a teacher. Working at the county level could also be rewarding, but I think I would miss the students. From taking this and a few other technology courses, I find the field of higher education very interesting. It would be wonderful to work with distance education at the high school, community college or college level.
A question I have is what exactly is the difference between the MS and the MAEd degree?

I hope we ALL can find positions that will make us happy! I agree with your comment on my blog that it appears the job of technology integration will eventually be placed mainly on the classroom teachers. I guess, no matter what, our degree will help us TREMENDOUSLY :)

I don't know the difference either. I also would love to work at a county level and a be a part of many schools.
One of the major differences between the two degrees is that the MAEd degree prepares one for the K-12 setting while the MS degree prepares one for the community college, military, business, and industry. If you want to work with a public school system, the MAEd is the way to go; else, the MS is probably the answer. I suggest that you e-mail Dr. Sugar.
